13th May 2017 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 20-25 knots Surf / Sea State: 1-2 foot surf Air Temperature: 17ºC Sea Temperature: 12ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: After this morning's session I went for a nice bike ride and then tried again. Wind dropped when I got to the beach again though so almost didn't bother but rigged my 6.7m sail and decided to give it a go. First run and I couldn't get planing until quite a way offshore. Did get going though and just about kept it on the plane. Felt a little better ont he way back in and I stayed upwind so decided to stay out. To start with I gybed before headed back into the whitewater to make the most of the cleaner wind out the back but soon the wind filled in and I was soon maxed out and having a whale of time. Surprised by just how much wind that sail can handle. The sun was shining I was well-powered and flying along. |
